All three versions of the 2009 Let Them Eat Vinyl release of 'Text Of Festival' make the mistake of taking their tracklisting from the earlier CD versions, and therefore miss out "Improvise...Compromise...Reprise", the side-long track that appeared as Side 4 of the original Illuminated vinyl release in 1983 (Hawkwind - The Text Of Festival - Hawkwind Live 1970-72) and on the Thunderbolt vinyl release in 1985 (Hawkwind - The Text Of Festival - Hawkwind Live 1970-72). To make matters worse, they confusingly re-name "Sound...Shouldn't...Improvise..." (the title of the original vinyl's Side 3) as "Improvise...Compromise...Revise", which is almost the same as the omitted "Improvise...Compromise...Reprise."
This is rather unfortunate as the sleevenotes by Andy Higgens particularly refer to the excellence of the music on the original Side 4, which includes "Be Yourself" from Hawkwind's first album: "This is undoubtedly the highlight of this set, but has always been previously omitted from the CD versions. It is also the only known live version available of this track". Not available however on these 2009 vinyl versions; Let Them Eat Vinyl - shame on you for this extremely shoddy release.

Hawkwind is the self-titled debut album by Hawkwind, released in 1970, originally on Liberty Records, later reissued on Sunset Records. This album is historic since it is one of the first space rock LPs. The Pretty Things guitarist Dick Taylor, who was looking for a new venture after leaving the band, was pulled into Hawkwind playing some gigs and producing this album. After several unsuccessful attempts to capture the band's sound in the studio, it was decided simply to record it live in the studio. When this album first appeared in 1983, there was indeed rejoicing in the streets - an apparently bona fide Hawkwind live album that not only predated the decade-old Space Ritual set, it also delivered a clutch of previously unrecorded songs. The closing salvo of I Do It aka We Do It, Come Home, and 20 minutes of improvisation around a theme of Shouldn't Do That represented uncharted territory for even arch-collectors. It really was a treat. Only for completionists 17. This album and Bring me the head of Uri Gagarin. Sometime in the 1980s, Dave Anderson was given a whole lot of random tapes from Nik Turner, and sold albums without the proper Hawkwind's concent.
