For younger people who might think that Chicago is an 80s Peter Cetera ballad engine, get this album immediately. It's cheap and easy to find on vinyl or CD and it is an incredible collection of jazzy rock with killer horns and amazing electric guitar. Really the first 5 albums are pretty great, but this is the one to have if no other. You will count yourself a Chicago fan if not a fan of music from this era in general. Either way, it will be a good turn.
Absolutely agree. This is by far the "CHICAGO" album to have. Actually the name of the band at this time was the Chicago Transit Authority. They had to change the name due to a copyright issue with the city of Chicago.
Agreed, I just got this in a vinyl dump from my in-laws and threw it on just to give it a shot. Wow, this album jams, and it's most definitely a keeper!
Most bands of that era changed with the times to continue to sell records and stay on the charts so I was not surprised to see Chicago do the same.
You are right this is really a great record! Played it last night was blown away with the guitar riffs!
You're right! This is a record I inherited from someone who dropped off their collection or something like that. I put this on one night and was just blown away!
Everyone blames Peter Cetera.Actually, he left when the drivel got unbearable.Put the blame where it belongs: Thanks, David Foster. Thanks a lot.
