The Grateful Dead is the debut album of the Grateful Dead. It was released by Warner Bros. Records in March 1967. According to the biographies of both bassist Phil Lesh and drummer Bill Kreutzmann, the band released the album as San Francisco's Grateful Dead. The album was primarily recorded at RCA's Studio A, in Los Angeles, in only four days. The band had wanted to record the tracks in their hometown of San Francisco, but no recording studios in the area had modernized equipment at the time. Текст песни: Born in Red Hook, Brooklyn, in the year of who knows when Opened up his eyes to the tune of an accordion Always on the outside of whatever side there was When they asked him why it had to be that Dylan : Dream Came True,альбом, рецезия, трек-лист, mp3, тексты песен. Though Bob Dylan and The Grateful Dead emerged on different coasts a few years apart, both were among the '60s survivors whose music stood outside of the mainstream no matter how much it had been included in it. They'd toured together and released Dylan & the Dead from concerts together in 1987, but here is a collection, selected by Bob Weir, that features mostly Weir's vocal performances with the band performing Dylan's songs. Americas most expansive band - from kaleidoscopic psychedelia to homespun country rock to epic live jams and beyond. Bob Dylan wasn't exactly at the peak of his career when he released Dylan & the Dead , a collaborative live album with the Grateful Dead , on Feb. In fact, he was pretty close to the bottom of his popularity, influence and creativity. And another live album - his third in 10 years certainly didn't help matters. In 1986, coming off a string of mostly terrible albums Shot of Love , Empire Burlesque , Knocked Out Loaded , Dylan played stadiums across the U. with Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and the Grateful Dead. The following year, Dylan and the Dead did it aga. Bob Dylan Grateful Dead Format: Vinyl. What I particularly like about this too short album is that four of the songs don't appear on any other Dylan live release, and yes there have been many. Live versions of Slow Train, Gotta Serve Somebody, Queen Jane Approximately, and Joey, appear here for the first and only time. Since I am one of the few fans of Bob's Christian period, I'm very happy to get two live performances of songs from that era. Quite possibly the worst album by either Bob Dylan or the Grateful Dead, the live Dylan & the Dead completely squanders its promise. Working from an intriguing selection of songs - it includes staples like Knockin' on Heaven's Door and more obscure gems like Joey - the Dead and Dylan contribute listless, meandering versions that are simply boring. Both artists have done much better - reportedly they have done better together, according to various bootleg fans - but Dylan & the Dead is a sad, disheartening document. Track Listing.
