Matheos founded the progressive metal band Fates Warning in 1983, while Arch left the band in 1987 and retired from the music business after having served as lead vocalist on their first three albums. Both musicians reunited on Arch's 2003 EP A Twist of Fate, after which Matheos contacted Arch about re-emerging from. Jim Matheos offered his insight on the writing and recording process of Sympathetic. In terms of the lyrical content on Sympathetic Resonance. Arch, Matheos discography all. Winter Ethereal 2019. Incense and Myrrh. Trey this is a new chapter in Jim Matheos and John Archs musical careers and cant realistically be compared to what theyve done before. Sympathetic Resonance is a wholly modern collection of powerful progressive metal songs that dont rely on keyboards, industrial effects or long bouts of subtlety. Its an album that is guitar-driven from start to finish, featuring an excellent rhythm section and the triumphant return of John Archs unique vocal acrobatics. Sympathetic Resonance' - ArchMatheos 810. Rewind back a pair of decades, back to the time around the release of US progressive metal act Fate's Warning's third album, 'Awaken The Guardian'. Unable to pay his bills with the band income alone, singer John Arch was working hard with a dayjob to make ends meet. If that was any indicator, it was true that the man who led Fate's Warning through their early work still had the pipes to hold his own quite brilliantly. With this and better conditions for making music, John Arch and Fate's Warning guitarist Jim Matheos have teamed up together once again to make music. ArchMatheos - Sympathetic Resonance review: This is not an unofficial Fates Warning release, nor is it. In all honesty, Sympathetic Resonance sounds nothing like what Fates Warning have been doing lately. By extension, despite the fact that this album features three-fifths of the classic Awaken the Guardian line-up, this isnt a sequel to that release. When pressed, the band have said that if there has to be a comparison made it should be to the John Arch EP, but even that is misleading. ArchMatheos - Sympathetic Resonance 2011.
